Watercolor Workshop at Mañana Botanicals in Abq, New Mexico

I'm so excited to announce my first in-person Floral Watercolor Workshop in nearly 6 years! This workshop will take place Saturday, Oct 12 from 9:30 am through 12:30. We will be meeting in the gorgeous and character filled space at Mañana Botanicals in beautiful Old Town, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Old Town New Mexico is a historic part of our city that has all the culture and adobe structures that make people fall in love with New Mexico. The class will be held indoors, with lots of natural light. It's situated near the beautiful scenery of the Rio Grande Valley. 

This workshop will be tailored for all skill levels, whether you are a complete beginner or an advanced watercolor pro, you are welcome to join us!

Our time together will be split into two sessions: During the morning segment of the class we will cover some of the basics, and practice new skills. I will share the watercolor supplies I recommend, and we will go over techniques such as washes, water control, mark making, color mixing, creating gradients, and more! We will all go through an exercise to create a flower together.

After a quick break, we will begin our next session. During this part of the class, we will be painting from life! I will offer a demonstration, then you can sketch out a composition of your own, or use one of mine. I will offer you feedback and suggestions to help bring your unique floral watercolor paintings to life. We will have plenty of gorgeous floral bouquet inspiration to get your creativity flowing! I will be bringing flowers from our garden so that together we can paint the plants that are currently blooming and in season.

In addition to the workshop, here's what’s included in your ticket price: A custom circular ceramic watercolor palette with 10 high quality paints dried and ready for you to use (the ceramic palette is made by my dear friend and local artist Michelle Bransford), a watercolor worksheet, a sketchbook with 100% cotton paper, and 2 round brushes. There will also be refreshments and coffee from a couple of my favorite local shops available for you to snack/sip on throughout the class.
